Quito é a capital do Equador, mas não a maior cidade do país, este título fica para Guaiaquil que possui mais de 3 milhões de habitantes e Quito cerca de 2 milhões e 500 mil. Situa-se ao norte do Equador e possui quatro vulcões, um deles com 4 794 metros de altura, o Pichincha, que é um vulcão ativo. Quito é a segunda cidade capital mais elevada do mundo. Ponto do ônibus no aeroporto de Quito
Chegamos em Quito vindo de Bogotá, tem um post aqui no blog: https://andiamoblogviagens.com.br/bogota-colombia/ pela Avianca. A nossa conexão foi longa e estávamos exaustos. Chegamos de madrugada e não sabíamos exatamente onde era o hotel, a melhor opção seria o táxi. Na esteira de bagagem fica uma moça oferecendo táxi, da cooperativa dos táxis do aeroporto. Preço até o hotel, 26 dólares. O aeroporto é bem distante da cidade. Cerca de 50 quilômetros. http://aeropuertoquito.aero/es/ aeroporto moderno e organizado.
Rua Garcia Moreno
Pegamos táxi apenas neste dia. Ficamos em Quito 5 dias, depois fomos para o Arquipélago de Galápagos e voltamos para Quito mais 1 dia. Usamos o ônibus nestas outras ocasiões e é muito barato. Em frente ao Aeroporto tem uma placa indicando a Parada do ônibus. Se paga para o cobrador, 2 dólares. Ônibus confortável e limpo, não anda cheio e vai até o Terminal Rio Coca, duração de 1:05 hora e de lá se pega um outro ônibus 0,25 centavos de dólares. Ele anda pelo corredor exclusivo de ônibus e passa pela La Mariscal, Zona Rosa e Centro Histórico. Que são os pontos mais conhecidos de hotéis. Outra opção seria o Aero Servicios, que é um ônibus executivo que leva até o antigo aeroporto, e outras regiões por 8 dólares. Depois tem que pegar um táxi a 5 dólares até o hotel. Não compensa! Assim é melhor o táxi.
Uma das belas igrejas da Rua Garcia Moreno
Logo pela manhã fomos conhecer o Centro Histórico de Quito que por lá dizem ser o maior da América do Sul. Realmente é bem bonito. O nosso hotel foi reservado pelo Booking.com e deu tudo certo. Hostel Margarita 2 http://www.hotelmargarita2.com/ a localização é excelente, fácil de andar a pé ou de ônibus. Não fica no meio do Centro, que é uma vantagem, porque o Centro Histórico é um movimento louco de pedestres, ônibus e carros. Fomos a pé, logo avistamos as torres da Basílica del Sagrado Voto Nacional que já foi comparada à famosa Catedral de Notre-Dame de Paris. Uma obra lindíssima em estilo Neogótico. Por ser muito alta em vários pontos da cidade se pode avistá-la. A um ticket de 2 dólares se pode subir em suas torres e ter uma bela vista da cidade. A altura da torre são de 78,00 metros de altura.
Chapéus típicos do Equador
Tomamos um belo café na cafeteria da Basílica e seguimos nosso percurso em direção a Rua Garcia Moreno, que é a mais charmosa da cidade com casarões e lojas em estilo que lembra a época da ocupação espanhola. A moeda do país é o dólar americano. Nos orientaram a ficar atentos a algumas notas, pois o governo produz algumas que só valem no Equador. Não pegamos nenhuma dessas. O famoso chapéu Panamá não é do Panamá e sim do Equador e ele está por todo lado do país!!
Rua Garcia Moreno em frente a Igreja de São Francisco
Descendo pela Rua Garcia Moreno, já dá para ter uma ideia do que nos aguarda. Ainda era cedo e a cidade estava começando a se movimentar. Estávamos em direção a Plaza Grande onde a maioria dos pontos turísticos estão localizados. Passamos pela Igreja de San Francisco, que é uma das mais antigas da América e a mais antiga da cidade. Dos anos de 1500.
Palácio Presidencial
Logo chegamos ao Palácio Presidencial ou Palácio de Carondelet que é onde fica o presidente. Com agendamento que pode ser feito no mesmo dia dá para fazer uma visita interna com guia pelas suas dependências. Basta ir a um pequeno quiosque localizado na rua lateral, dar seu nome e apresentar o passaporte. http://www.presidencia.gob.ec/
Fonte da Plaza Grande
Os prédios suntuosos e monumentos localizados na Plaza Grande são vários. Não daria tempo de visitar todos. A praça fica lotada durante todo o dia. A segurança é visível, policiais passando em uma pequena moto, vários parados nas esquinas e muita gente. É conhecida também como Plaza de la Independencia. Nela está: A prefeitura de Quito, o Palácio Hidalgo, Hotel Plaza Grande, Palácio de Carondelet, Catedral de Quito, Banco del Pichincha, Casa de Manuela Sáenz, Museu Alberto Mena Caamaño, Igreja e convento da Imaculada Conceição, Obelisco e uma fonte. É uma das partes mais bonitas de Quito.
Igleza de La Compañia de Jesus
A Igleza de La compañia de Jesus é feita de pedras vulcânicas e decoradas com peças de ouro, vale a pena uma visita para ver como os espanhóis queriam impressionar para catequizar, o site desta bela igreja é: http://fundacioniglesiadelacompania.org.ec/portal/
Igleza del Carmen Alto
A Igleza del Carmen Alto está um quarteirão abaixo da Plaza Grande, nela está um conjunto de igrejas, capelas e conventos. Tem esse nome porque as Carmelitas vieram se estabelecer neste local após um terremoto, como pela regra não poderia ter mais de 21 freiras em cada mosteiro, tiveram que construir outro local e para diferenciar do novo local estabeleceram que este seria diferenciado pelo Alto. Hoje tem um museu com uma bela exposição de toda a sua história.
Igleza Santo Domingos de Guzmam
Descendo a direita, após a Plaza Grande se depara com uma grande praça com uma igreja bem antiga, a Igleza Santo Domingos de Guzmam. A igreja é do ano de 1580 e possui um grande acervo da história dos mártires da Ordem de São Domingos. É uma das estruturas religiosas mais importantes de Quito. A praça em frente é bem grande e cheia de pedestres. No meio tem uma bela escultura de um mártir do Equador.
Cerro El Panecillo
O Cerro El Panecillo, está em uma parte bem alta da cidade de Quito, não fomos até o Cerro, mas de vários pontos se pode observá-lo. Tem uma grande estátua que representa a Virgem Maria. Se pode avistar um dos vulcões que estão localizados na cidade. Vale a pena dar uma subidinha até o Cerro. De táxi do Centro Histórico são 5 dólares. Quem sabe da próxima vez a gente reserve um tempo para ir. Foi muito recomendada. Mas, a cidade oferece muitas atrações e tínhamos que eliminar algumas.
TelefériQo
Depois de passarmos o dia no Centro Histórico, deixamos para irmos ao TelefériQo no outro dia, escreve assim mesmo. É o maior TelefériQo do mundo, com 4.050 metros de altura e se pode avistar vários vulcões que estão em Quito ou próximo. Demora 18 minutos para subir os 2.500 metros. O Cable car que leva até o alto, parece ser bem seguro, quase não balança e tem capacidade para 6 pessoas. Mas, é muito alto!!! Dá um certo medinho. https://teleferico.com.ec/
Vista de dentro do Teleférico
Assim que começa a subir ainda é possível avistar a cidade, de um ponto em diante raramente é possível pois, sempre está nublado. No nosso caso também foi assim e o frio é bem intenso. Descendo na estação, tem alguns pontos de passeio, lojinhas com souvenirs, lanchonete, banheiros e o Mirador de Los Volcanes, onde se pode avistar 10 vulcões. Não avistamos nenhum, estava tudo nublado.
Um dos Cable Car do Teleférico
Enquanto alguns sobem outros descem. A descida é no escuro, pois a visibilidade é nula. Para ter acesso ao teleférico o preço é de 8,50 dólares, para os equatorianos é mais barato e para quem for da Terceira Idade também tem desconto, 6,50 dólares.
Na parte alta do TelefériQo!! Que frio!!
Para chegar ao TelefériQo de transporte público, não é difícil. Estando no Centro Histórico, basta ir até uma estação de ônibus que está a 8 quadras acima da Plaza Grande. Chegando lá é só pegar um ônibus para San Carlos e descer na parada de ônibus TelefériQo. O ônibus custa 0,25 centavos de dólar e o cobrador fica andando entre os passageiros para receber e ele poderá lhe orientar onde descer. Não é muito distante. Descendo no ponto, basta atravessar a avenida e ir para um ponto de ônibus que é gratuito e te leva até um parque de diversão que está a 100 metros da entrada do TelefériQo. Sempre tem alguém neste ponto que irá para lá. O ônibus que te leva é todo enfeitado com gravuras do parque. Não tem erro.
Ônibus que leva a Mitad del Mundo
Outro lugar super importante de se conhecer na cidade de Quito é a Ciudad Mitad del Mundo, que na verdade não fica em Quito, mas em uma cidade bem pertinho, província de Pichincha, que é grudada na capital. A 26 quilômetros ao norte do centro da cidade de Quito. O local é a sede do “Museo Etnográfico Mitad del Mundo”, um museu sobre a etnografia indígena do Equador. É a metade do mundo, onde passa a Latitude Zero. Para chegar até lá de transporte público não é complicado, basta pegar o Metro, que é um ônibus bi-articulado, que passa por um corredor próprio, até a estação Ofélia. Todo mundo sabe te orientar em que direção você deve ir para chegar na Estação Ofélia. Nos pontos de embarque também tem um funcionário que te orienta. A passagem é 0,25 centavos de dólar. Muito barato. São cerca de 40 minutos. Descendo na estação Ofélia é só descer e ir para a parada que leva a Mitad del Mundo. Não tem erro!! neste ônibus pagará 0,15 centavos. Serão mais uns 25 minutos até a porta de entrada.
Avenida dos Geodésicos
O monumento de 30 metros de altura na área foi construído entre 1979 e 1982 pelo Conselho da Província de Pichincha em substituição ao antigo. No local é onde se passa a linha do Equador que deu nome ao país. É a metade do mundo. Se bem que segundo o GPS, tem um pequeno erro de alguns metros. Lá tem várias experiencias que se pode fazer, inclusive ter a oportunidade de se pesar e ver que existe uma diferença a menos no peso.

O ingresso é de 5 dólares e vale a pena cada centavo. Local bem organizado e amplo com vários lugares interessantes:

Estar na Ciudad Mitad del Mundo, não tem como não tirar uma foto em cada hemisfério. Todo turista faz isso. Tem vários locais que a linha amarela aparece dividindo o mundo. kkkkk http://www.mitaddelmundo.com/
Rosa um dos símbolos de Quito
Outro ponto importante no Equador e que eles se orgulham muito é o cultivo de rosas. Tem fama no mundo inteiro de serem as mais bonitas. Por esta razão são exportadas em grande quantidade. Suas qualidades únicas se transformam em altíssima qualidade. Os fatores que influenciam sua qualidade é o lugar onde são produzidas, principalmente em Pichincha, que se encontram a mais de 2000 metros de altitude na linha do Equador, com luz solar perpendicular, temperaturas médias de 14 graus e com luz solar de 12 horas diárias.O pico de vendas são: San Valentin, Dia da Mulher, Dia das mães e Dia dos Santos. Os dias de vida da rosa do Equador são de 15 a 20 dias. Muito alto!!!
Bairro San Blas
Um bairro bem charmoso de Quito é o San Blas. Fica grudado no Centro Histórico é um dos bairros mais antigos da cidade. Tem um toque muito especial com suas casas e casarões antigos e ruas bem bonitas. É a entrada do Centro Histórico e marca o limite norte. Está em uma colina e se tem uma bela vista da cidade, tem atraído bares, restaurantes e barracas tradicionais. Um local muito bacana de ir à noite é na rua La Ronda no Centro Histórico.
Um dos bairros mais famosos de Quito é o La Mariscal, um bairro moderno com prédios bonitos e onde estão a maioria dos hotéis. Dá para ir a pé ao Centro Histórico, desde que goste de andar, serão de 2 a 3 quilômetros. O bairro a noite é bem agitado principalmente próximo a Plaza Fock que é onde a agitação acontece. Os bares costumam abrir às 16:00 horas e vai até o amanhecer do dia. Nele está o melhor lugar para comprar lembrancinhas e produtos da região, com qualidade e bom preço, Pode barganhar a vontade eles já estão acostumados. É o Mercado de Artesanato La Mariscal, http://turismo.company/ se resolver fazer o passeio pela cidade em ônibus de turismo, tipo Hop On- Hop Off, aqueles que pode
descer e subir novamente por 24 horas. Lá é o lugar mais barato para contratar, 10 dólares!!! Passa por 11 paradas e tem a opção de fazer o passeio à Mitad del Mundo, Quito a noite e outros passeios a outros valores. http://quitotourbus.com/en/
