Olá viajantes,
A Highway 1 é conhecida como a mais bonita dos Estados Unidos. Vai de São Francisco a Los Angeles e a melhor opção é nessa sequencia, pois irá sempre dirigir com o Oceano Pacífico ao seu lado. Entre essas duas cidades a distância é de 730 km. A rodovia é mesmo linda, com curvas, cidadezinhas e parques maravilhosos. Mas, nada que não tenha no Brasil e até mais bonitas, claro que sem a organização dos Estados Unidos. Fizemos um pouco mais, fomos até Las Vegas, mais 500 km no deserto. Nosso trajeto levou 2 dias, isso porque paramos várias vezes nos mirantes (parada obrigatória), parques e nas pequenas cidades.
Fazer o percurso em um dia é possível, mas torna o passeio inviável, uma vez que fica corrido e quase impossível de conhecer as várias atrações do percurso. Muitos turistas fazem em 2 ou 4 dias. Caso vá fazer em dois dias, o ideal é ficar em: San Luis Obispo, San Simeon ou Santa Bárbara, esta última foi a nossa opção. A melhor opção com certeza é de carro, ou moto. A Highway não tem muitos postos e é muito importante abastecer o carro, pois em longos trechos não tem posto de gasolina e nem retorno. Locamos o carro ainda no Brasil pela Rentcars, uma excelente escolha, pois se pode pagar em reais no cartão de crédito, ficando isento de IOF. Pegamos o carro no centro de São Francisco, bem pertinho do nosso hotel. Pegamos a estrada pela Highway 1 em direção a Monterey. O tempo de carro entre as duas cidades pela autoestrada, ou a US-101, é de menos de 2 horas, mas indo pela Highway 1, que era o nosso objetivo, esse tempo passa de 2:30 horas. Afinal, queríamos ir observando a vista da parte costeira às margens do Pacífico O percurso pela Highway 1 nesse trecho não é tão atrativo, poderia ter ido mesmo pela US-101, que é mais rápida até Monterey e de lá seguir pela Highway 1. Monterey é uma pequena cidade a beira mar, com vários lugares interessantes para conhecer. O aquário é o ponto alto da cidade, Monterey Bay Aquarium é um aquário gigante de água salgada. O ingresso não é muito barato, coisa de 50 dólares e pode comprar pelo site, bem como ver os horários que são flexíveis conforme a época do ano, o site é: http://www.montereybayaquarium.org/visit/hours-and-tickets outro local é o Fisherman’s Wharf, o cais da cidade, possui um calçadão e está sempre cheio de turistas.
Possui várias lojinhas de souvenirs e restaurantes especializados em frutos do mar, um passeio no final da tarde deve ser mesmo muito agradável. Do lado do cais tem um estacionamento a preços justos. Coisa de 1 dólar a cada meia hora.e Monterey a Carmel é bem pertinho. Cerca de 15 km e o caminho mais bonito é pela 17 Mile Drive, onde se pode observar lindas paisagens da praia e lindas casas. A cidade é histórica e tem um pedágio, não muito caro, cerca de 10 dólares. Neste local eles fornecem um mapinha bem útil, da Highway One. A cidade é pequena, mas tem muitas lojinhas e restaurantes típicos. Uma graça!!
Logo após Carmel a paisagem ficará ainda mais bonita e a grande atração é a ponte Bixby Creek Bridge. É a ponte mais bonita da Highway One.É uma ponte construída em 1932 com uma arquitetura impressionante, possui um mirante, que é possível avistar toda a ponte. Ela liga Carmel a St. Luiz Obispo. Ficou pronta antes da estrada e foi inaugurada 5 anos depois.
Outro ponto muito interessante nesta região é o Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park, onde está localizado uma cachoeira super interessante, pois ela cai na praia. Para avistá-la não tem necessidade de adquirir ingressos. É só estacionar na estrada do parque e já verá uma quantidade de turistas, de lá vá seguindo o pessoal que irá descer uma escadinha e uma pequena trilha, de lá já se avista a cachoeira. Ela realmente desce da montanha e deságua na areia da praia. Incrível!!
Ao longo da viagem, em vários pontos existe a notificação dos animais selvagens. São esquilos, leões marinhos e algumas aves. Vale dizer que é proibido alimentá-los. Em alguns pontos a altura da estrada é tanta que fica toda nublada. Por vários pontos enfrentamos o nevoeiro. Quando descemos o sol é escaldante. Passamos em alguns restaurantes na beira da estrada. São bem raros, este é um dos pontos negativos da Highway One. Tivemos a oportunidade de vermos famílias inteiras fazendo picnics, churrascos e curtindo o domingo. O churrasco típico americano é bem estranho, tinha até espiga de milho. Os habitantes dessa região são bem “sertanejos”, usam chapéus, botas, e outros apetrechos dessa categoria.
O trecho entre Big Sur e Santa Barbara é o mais bonito da Highway One, na minha opinião. São praias, vinícolas, cachoeiras, elefantes marinhos e muitas aves. Entre dezembro e janeiro são os meses que eles estão em maior população. Estivemos em julho e não vimos muitos. Em St. Luiz Obispo, tem até um castelo em uma colina. Tem que se distanciar um pouco da Highway 1, mas dizem que vale a visita. Não fomos.
Ainda não existem vôos diretos do Brasil para São Francisco, todos fazem uma conexão, que pode ser em Los Angeles, Dallas, Miami, Nova Iorque, Cidade do Panamá, Detroit ou Atlanta. Chegando em São Francisco se pode contratar uma agencia que faz esse percurso. Mas, o melhor mesmo é ir de carro, por conta própria e seguir de acordo com o seu ritmo e interesses. Procure parar nos mirantes que estão no decorrer do percurso da Highway One e apreciar a vista que ele oferece. Em vários pontos não existe uma mureta e chega a ser um tanto perigoso, principalmente se for fazer uma selfie e se estiver com crianças o cuidado deve ser redobrado. Caso o estacionamento estiver cheio, não se preocupe que é bem rotativo e logo surgirá uma vaga.
Fique atento na estrada, ela possui muitas curvas e é de pista única, não ultrapasse onde não é permitido. As leis de trânsito são bem rígidas no país e pagar uma multa em dólares não será nada agradável.Finalmente chegamos em Santa Bárbara a maior e mais bonita cidade do percurso. Ficamos hospedados no hotel: http://www.rosegardeninnsantabarbara.com/ um hotel bem simples com vista para as belas montanhas e ao lado de um grande supermercado. O hotel foi reservado pelo Booking.com e valeu muito o custo-benefício. Faça as suas reservas pelo Booking.com através do nosso Blog e nos ajude na divulgação. Isso não lhe acarretará nada a mais em suas diárias.
Chegamos na cidade e fomos direto para a orla da cidade que é bem bonita e cheia de turistas. A cidade é rodeada de vinícolas e os vinhos vendidos na cidade são maravilhosos. São os famosos vinhos californianos. Um bom local para andar e passear no final da tarde é o cais da cidade que é todo reestruturado e organizado com vários restaurantes e lojinhas.
A State Street é a avenida mais famosa da cidade, com lojas de marcas famosas, bons restaurantes, cafeterias e galerias comerciais é um convite a andar a pé. Os preços são bem salgados e não é a melhor opção de compras. Melhor mesmo só passear. A cidade é como se fosse uma cidade de griffes. É residência de vários artistas hollywoodianos.
Depois de jantarmos e dormirmos na cidade, saímos bem cedinho para Malibu. Não é longe e a estrada é bem sinuosa, com grandes elevações. O trânsito já é bem intenso porque já estamos nos arredores de Los Angeles.
A grande atração da cidade alem das praias que são famosas nos filmes, são as mansões dos artistas. As casas em sua maioria ficam em colinas ou em condomínios fechados. As praias não são tão bonitas, devido ao despenhadeiro. Mas, oferece uma boa estrutura. Possui vários restaurantes e barracas de praia com muito conforto. De lá desviamos um pouco a rota e seguimos para Camarillo Premium Outlets, um local excelente para fazer compras a preços camaradas. Seria nossa única parada para compras. O outlet é excelente, atendimento muito bom, fácil de se locomover, estacionamento grande, bons preços. Chegamos assim que abriu, por volta de 11:00 horas, ficamos até as 18:00 horas e de lá seguimos para um hotel localizado na região. O hotel seria para passar a noite e no dia seguinte bem cedinho iríamos para Los Angeles.
