Olá Viajante,
Pompéia é uma cidade do Império Romano, situada a 22 km da cidade de Nápoles. A antiga Pompéia foi destruída durante a erupção terrível do Vulcão Vesúvio no ano de 79. Com a erupção, provocou uma intensa chuva de cinzas que fez com que a cidade desaparecesse literalmente, ficando submersa por anos.
Ela se manteve oculta por 1600 anos, até ser reencontrada por acaso em 1748.Depois desta grande descoberta inciaram suas escavações, transformando em um grande Sitio Arqueológico que hoje é aberto a visitação. O fato de ficar aterrada por tanto tempo, fez com que a cidade ficasse preservada e hoje ainda não foi totalmente escavada e a maioria ainda está sob o solo, sendo protegida. Cinzas e lama protegeram as construções e objetos ao efeitos do tempo, moldando também os corpos das vítimas, o que fez com que fossem encontradas do modo exato como foram atingidas pela erupção.
Desenvolveram então uma técnica de injetar gesso neles para recriar perfeitamente o formato das vítimas. O resultado foi uma série de corpos e formas com uma fidelidade incrível ao modo como os habitantes estavam no exato momento da erupção. Muitos com expressão de terror em seu último momento de suas vidas. Pompéia tinha cerca de 20 mil habitantes e se localizava a cerca de 8 km de distância do Vulcão. Herculano, que também foi destruída, era menor e mais rica, tinha 4 mil habitantes e se situava a 7 km. As duas cidades são Patrimônio Mundial da Humanidade, pela UNESCO. Recebe quase 3 milhões de turistas por ano. O Vulcão Vesúvio está apenas adormecido e não é extinto. Felizmente, é todo monitorado e a qualquer sinal a população deve ser retirada. É possível fazer uma visita ao Vulcão e posso lhe garantir que é uma experiência incrível. Dizem que foi encontrado de 1000 a 1500 cadáveres e deve ter morrido 2500. O Sítio arqueológico é muito organizado e muito fácil de conhecer, a entrada custa em torno de 12 euros e tem guias na porta que podem acompanhar e explicar tudo, a um preço extra. Não existe necessidade de comprar os bilhetes com antecedência.
Estive em Pompéia por três vezes, da primeira vez fui para dormir e me hospedei em Pompéia no Hotel Forum, um hotel muito bom e bem localizado, próximo da entrada do Sítio Arqueológico. O café da manhã foi maravilhoso. http://www.hotelforum.it/ita/ fizemos as reservas pelo Booking.com e deu tudo certo! Logo pela manhã já estávamos na entrada do Sítio e com isto podemos aproveitar bem o dia, era julho e estava muito quente, com certeza foi um alívio ser um dos primeiros a entrar. Um calor terrível! Já da segunda vez dormimos em Nápoles em um hotel não muito bom, mas para o que desejávamos foi perfeito. O hotel é localizado na Piazza Garibaldi bem em frente a Estação Central de Nápoles. http://www.albergoideal.it/it/
Fomos de táxi para Pompéia, combinamos o preço com um taxista bem camarada. Ele nos levou, esperou por duas horas e nos levou para Sorrento. Como já conhecíamos e estávamos com um casal que queria apenas conhecer sem muitos detalhes. A opção foi excelente. Estávamos em quatro e o preço ficou muito bom. Chegamos em Sorrento aproveitamos a tarde e voltamos de barco para Nápoles e a noite seguimos de trem para Roma. Como o hotel é perto da estação, havíamos deixado nossas bagagens.
Um site que conta tudo que aconteceu no dia da erupção de uma forma bem interessante através das palavras de Plínio, um rapaz de 20 anos que sobreviveu e deixou seus relatos é o: http://aventurasnahistoria.uol.com.br vale a pena dar uma olhadinha.
Muitas pessoas vão a Pompéia em um bate-e-volta de Roma. Não recomendo, só em último caso. É cansativo e estressante. Mas, é possível. A melhor opção é ficar em Pompéia, a Nova Pompéia que é uma cidade bem bonitinha e com uma vida noturna bem efervescente ou dormir em Nápoles, que é uma cidade que vale muito a pena conhecer. Ficando em Nápoles é muito fácil ir a Pompéia. A estação ferroviária fica bem pertinho da entrada do Sítio Arqueológico e não tem erro! Próximo a entrada tem uma feirinha com vários produtos da região e claro o Limoncello,que é um licor de limão, muito famoso na Itália. Vem em um vidro em formato de bota, que é o mapa da Itália. Assim que entra para o Sítio Arqueológico, do lado direito está a Arena e uma avenida em frente com vários ciprestes lindos e antigos. De lá o Vesúvio parece estar bem pertinho.
Você pode fazer o percurso que quiser e pode ficar quanto tempo também. Fica aberto de 8:30 às 19:30 de abril a outubro e 8:30 às 17:00 de novembro a março. Dá para visitar Herculano e Pompéia no mesmo dia. O ideal é começar por Herculano que é menor e depois seguir de trem para Pompéia, uns 20 minutos, descer na estação próxima à escavação. O valor do bilhete do trem é bem baratinho. http://www.trenitalia.com/ caso no final do dia irá retornar para Roma ou Nápoles é muito fácil, basta se dirigir para a estação e ir para Nápoles de trem de lá na Estação Central de Nápoles na Piazza Garibaldi já saem os trens para Roma.
Se tiver um dia extra em Nápoles, visite o Museu Arqueológico, onde estão vários afrescos, objetos e esqueletos recuperados durante as escavações.
Durante o percurso por Pompéia é possível passar por restaurantes, casas simples e algumas suntuosas, padarias, fontes, teatro, prostíbulos,a praça principal onde está a parte administrativa da cidade e o Vesúvio sempre te acompanhando por todo o percurso. Sensacional!!
É incrível andar por suas ruas e pensar que é exatamente como era na época que seus moradores viviam na cidade. A urbanização da cidade já era bem planejada, com detalhes incríveis. Enquanto você segue andando se depara com vários arqueólogos e em alguns pontos estão fechados para visitação. Lembre-se ainda tem muito a descobrir sobre Pompéia.
Durante a entrada ao Sítio é possível adquirir um mapinha para não se perder, mas isso não é possível, é só seguir o fluxo dos turistas. Devido ao calçamento irregular é aconselhável ir de calçado confortável, procure levar chapéu, boné e filtro solar. Não tem muita sombra durante o percurso. Tem banheiro, água e até um restaurante. O ponto alto do passeio é a praça onde está localizado o Forum, o Templo de Vênus, a Basílica, o Templo de Apolo entre outras construções importantes na vida da cidade.
A maioria dos objetos achados em Pompéia estão no Museu Arqueológico de Nápoles, para ficarem preservados e protegidos. O que se pode ver estão em um galpão próximo da praça principal, onde se pode ver através de uma grade, jarros, estátuas e alguns moldes dos corpos encontrados.
