Localizada no município de Ipojuca, a apenas 70 km da capital Recife. Servia de chegada aos escravos africanos que vinham contrabandeados e escondidos entre as galinhas. Daí a origem do nome. A melhor forma de chegar em Porto de Galinhas, vindo de avião, é pelo aeroporto de Recife. É a cidade mais próxima à Porto de Galinhas e de lá, alugar um carro no próprio aeroporto para ir em direção ao sul e chegar em Porto de Galinhas. Aventura é o que não falta. Pode ser por terra ou por água. Os passeios são as grandes atrações de Porto de Galinhas. O Buggy é muito procurado, mas as jangadas é a grande pedida. Levam os turistas às piscinas naturais repletas de peixes coloridos. Onde se é possível mergulhar com cilindro e avistar até uma jangada naufragada.
Já os passeios de barcos apresentam a deserta ilha de Santo Aleixo, perfeita para mergulhos profundos. Ultimamente o acesso às piscinas naturais em época de temporada está sendo controlado e pode ocorrer filas. Estão estipulando a quantidade de 75 pessoas por vez e com o limite de 20 minutos para ficar nos corais. Tudo isso para preservar os corais.
Um detalhe importante é que todos os passeios devem ser feitos na maré baixa. Menos de 0,8 m, portanto fique atento à tabua de marés. Nos hotéis e nas pousadas eles tem essa marcação. Se tiver o seu próprio snorkel, leve. Os jangadeiros emprestam só a máscara. Se pode ir de jangada, que é o mais adequado, à uma pequena taxa ou ir caminhando. Esta última opção é feita com guias especializados da Prefeitura de Ipojuca e é gratuito. Basta pegar a senha e aguardar a sua vez.
Não é preciso reservar os passeios de jangada. Basta ir na Praça Central de Porto de Galinhas, onde há um quiosque da Associação de Jangadeiros e comprar o ingresso. Desta forma estará comprando para andar com jangadeiros credenciados. O valor é de: 25,00 reais.
A praia mais procurada é mesmo a de Porto de Galinhas, em função das piscinas naturais que estão a 500 metros. Indo de jangada ou caminhando, você terá que usar uma pulseirinha e só entra nas piscinas quem estiver usando uma. Tem lugar que é só para olhar e admirar, não se pode tocar. Todo cuidado é pouco, para manter a preservação ambiental.
As jangadas saem do calçadão da praia de Porto de Galinhas e duram 45 minutos. Cada jangada leva até 6 passageiros. Se quiser fotos tiradas por outra pessoa, se pode contratar pessoas de agencias que fazem esse serviço. O mergulho com cilindro nas piscinas naturais, 70 fotos, vídeo de 30 minutos, fotos tiradas de uma Go pro. Para um casal sai cerca de 140 reais.
Jangadas coloridas partem do centrinho de Porto de Galinhas, a todo momento. O fluxo de turistas é bem grande. Uma alegria e tanto!
Outro passeio procuradíssimo depois das jangadas é o passeio de Buggy, o famoso Ponta a Ponta, que visita as praias de Muro Alto a Maracaípe. Sai por cerca de 250 reais para 4 pessoas. Um dos melhores restaurantes é o Beijupirá, fica em uma rua de mesmo nome. As porções são gigantes e a preços justos. Maracaípe é vizinha a Porto de Galinhas, as ondas são boas para surfe e geralmente é mais vazia. Mas, vale a pena conhecer.
Durante o percurso de Catamarã a Praia de Calhetas, se passa em um local inesperado e nada comum em um passeio praiano. É o banho de Argila. Com propriedades terapêuticas e rejuvenescedoras. Uma boa pedida!!!
A Praia de Calhetas pode ser acessada de carro também, principalmente se estiver indo à Cabo de Santo Agostinho. Fica em direção à Recife à 41 km da capital. Lá fica os melhores resorts da região. Ah! depois do banho de Argila tem um chuveiro para tomar banho, claro que pago. Mas, vale a pena a pele fica realmente bem macia.
Na Praia de Calhetas, tem também uma tirolesa que é a alegria da garotada. Vários mirantes no percurso e uma Vila muito antiga a Vila de Nazaré. O passeio a Cabo de Santo Agostinho fica em torno de 300 reais, para 4 pessoas.
Já no ponto mais alto de Cabo de Santo Agostinho, a grande atração é a Igreja de Nossa Senhora de Nazaré, construída pelos portugueses no século XVI. Tem também o Convento Carmelita, o Forte Castelo do Mar e a Casa do Faroleiro. Estão em ruínas e é uma oportunidade de unir o antigo com o novo.
A Vila de Nazaré foi palco de batalhas entre os índios Caetés e os portugueses e posteriormente entre os portugueses e os holandeses. É uma região lindíssima, com mar azul, a Mata Atlântica e as ruínas. Se casam perfeitamente dando um toque todo especial.
Para sair à noite ou no fim da tarde, vale a pena conhecer o centrinho de Porto de Galinhas, um lugar bem gostoso de caminhar e petiscar nos bares e restaurantes ou fazer alguma comprinha de lembrancinhas da cidade.
