Olá Viajantes,

Toronto é a maior cidade do Canadá com cerca de 3 milhões de habitantes e é a cidade mais segura do país. Localizada na região sul na província de Ontário, na costa do loga de mesmo nome. Sendo a cidade mais multicultural do mundo, 50 % da população pertence a grupo de minorias. A maioria da população fala inglês, no entanto existe várias outras diferentes línguas faladas na cidade. Isso ocorre principalmente pelo grande número de universidades, cursos de pós-graduação, mestrados e oportunidades de empregos. A cidade através de festivais, atividades esportivas, culturais e artísticas atrai mais de 25 milhões de turistas por ano. Conhecida por seus prédios estilo arranha-céus e em particular a Torre CN, que é a estrutura mais alta do Hemisfério Ocidental.

Chegamos em Toronto pela Delta Airlines https://pt.delta.com/ no Aeroporto Internacional Lester B. Pearson https://www.torontopearson.com/# , como já tínhamos feito as reservas de um carro pelo Rentcars e pagamos no cartão em reais e fugimos da IOF. Foi muito fácil chegar e já ter um carro a disposição para andar pela cidade. De lá iríamos para outras cidades no Canadá e iríamos fazer tudo de carro. A primeira viagem foi a Cataratas do Niágara ou Niagara Falls, tem um post aqui no Blog: https://andiamoblogviagens.com.br/cataratas-do-niagara-canada/ uma viagem para quem estiver em Toronto não pode deixar de ir. Do aeroporto ao centro da cidade onde era o nosso hotel foi bem tranquilo. Alugamos o carro com GPS e reservamos o hotel pelo Booking.com e deu tudo certo. O hotel foi o: http://www.chestnut.utoronto.ca/ um hotel que faz parte da Universidade de Toronto, enorme e praticamente utilizado por alunos e professores da Universidade. O preço e a localização são muito bons. Oferece café da manhã incluso nas diárias, o restaurante é  um refeitório de estudantes universitários. Mas, valeu o custo benefício. De lá deu para a gente conhecer vários pontos turísticos a pé. No prédio do hotel tem  estacionamento, a 20 dólares canadenses. Mas, não tem como fugir. Estando de carro este é o grande problema das grandes cidades. Mesmo assim a melhor forma de conhecer o Canadá é de carro. Principalmente, devido ao grande percurso que iríamos fazer:

 

Toronto possui dois aeroportos dentro da cidade. Alem do Internacional que foi o que a gente chegou, tem um que é muito interessante. Pois, ele está em uma ilha e que se pode ser avistado da Torre CN,  É o Billy Bishop  Toronto City Airport, localizado na Ilhas Toronto e oferece voos em sua maioria domésticos e está conectado ao continente por um Ferry Boat.  O Porto de Toronto,  que é bem pertinho do centro da cidade é movimentado e circula vários navios de médio e pequeno porte os de grande portes ficam para o porto de Montreal.

Assim que chegamos, guardamos a bagagem e fomos ao Eaton Centre, que é um grande centro comercial tipo Shopping, muito bonito, com belas lojas de griffes. Fica localizado bem pertinho do hotel.  No outro dia fomos a famosa torre CN Tower, que é vista de vários pontos da cidade e com certeza o ponto mais famoso de Toronto, sendo o seu cartão-postal. Já foi a mais alta estrutura do mundo por vários anos. Hoje é a terceira maior. Ainda continua com o título de uma das Sete Maravilhas do Mundo Moderno. http://www.cntower.ca/intro.htm compre os ingressos com antecedência, através deste site e evite filas. Se bem que no dia que fomos as filas não eram grandes.  Dentro da torre tem uma cápsula com cartas de várias seguimentos da sociedade, do primeiro ministro na época da inauguração, moedas, jornais, etc. Será aberta em 2076, quando a estrutura fará aniversário de 100 anos. Espero estar viva para ver kkkkkk Outras grandes atrações conhecidas incluem,

O ticket  normal  dá direito a ir  no Lookout, que é o primeiro nível de observação, o terraço, o chão de vidro e o restaurante, que é giratório e se pode avistar a cidade em um ângulo de 360 graus enquanto se degusta uma boa refeição. O elevador já é uma grande atração, pois tem vista panorâmica e algumas partes do chão são de vidros, chega ao topo em 58 segundos. Dá um certo desconforto no ouvido que  passa rapidinho, quando chegamos na parte alta.

Descendo as escadas está o chão de vidro. Que nada mais é que uma parta do chão em vidro, onde se tem a sensação que está sem nada por baixo. São partes quadradas de vidro. Nem todo mundo consegue nem ao menos colocar os pés neste vidro. Muito interessante. Lá também está o terraço ou Sky Terrace, que dá para sentir o vento lá do alto.

Uma das vistas mais bonita da cidade da CN Tower é da ilha que está o aeroporto Billy Bishop e dos arranhas céus de Toronto. Se ainda quiser subir um pouco mais, cerca de 100 metros, tem que pagar um pouco mais caro e comprar o bilhete que dá direito ao SkyPod. Não comprei. Outra opção é fazer reservas para o restaurante e com isso não tem a necessidade de comprar os tickets de entrada.

Na parte debaixo tem várias lojinhas de souvenirs, lanchonetes e tudo que se pode explorar o turista. Os preços não são muito convidativos, mas tem muitos produtos interessantes e alguns animais gigantes como ursos de pelúcia, onde todo mundo tira uma foto. Quem ainda quer mais aventura e não tem medo de altura, uma boa dica é o  Edge Walk. Consiste em andar a 365 metros de altura a céu aberto, do lado de fora da torre em uma pequena plataforma. Isso a um custo extra é claro! Fomos até lá apenas para ver os corajosos se arriscando. Parece bem seguro, os turistas ficam presos por cabos e fazem algumas posições monitoradas pelos guias. A sensação parece ser de estar voando, o vento é muito forte. Um dos programas imperdíveis para quem gosta de aventura. Do lado da Torre está o  Rogers Centre que é um estádio de baseball, esporte popular do Canadá, que fica lotado em dia de jogos do Blue Jays, o time de baseball de Toronto. Quem sabe dê tempo de assistir a um jogo. Entre no site e veja as datas. Com certeza, a melhor opção é comprar os ingressos com antecedência. https://www.mlb.com/bluejays/tickets as filas são gigantescas. A Casa Loma, fica um pouco mais distante da Torre, na parte alta da cidade. Ela está em uma colina  e é uma casa conhecida por ter vários quartos, 98 ao todo. Na verdade nem é uma casa e sim um castelo. Foi de propriedade particular, mas o dono faliu e hoje é um ponto de visitação. http://www.casaloma.ca/


O Art Gallery of Ontario, a Galeria de Arte de Ontário é um passeio excelente também, pois possui uma das maiores coleções de arte moderna. http://ago.ca/ fica na Dundas Street West no bairro de Chinatown e seu prédio é bem bonito e moderno.  Na cidade tem vários shoppings e uma região que compete com a Times Square, claro que bem menor. Fica no cruzamento entre a Dundas Street e a Yonge Street. Bem pertinho do Shopping Eaton Centre. Visite a região no final da tarde até escurecer, as ruas são cheias de grandes letreiros de marcas famosas e eventos, com várias lojas grandes e bonitas. Um passeio onde se é possível sentir o clima da cidade de Toronto. Dentro do Eaton Centre, tem o PATH, que é  um conglomerado centro comercial subterrâneo com mais de 30 km, que é um alívio andar principalmente no inverno. Lá se encontra de tudo!!  e o principal tem aquecimento para a época do inverno. O High Park é o parque mais conhecido de Toronto. Sensacional! Principalmente na primavera ou no outono, onde a vegetação por si só já é um espetáculo. Durante o inverno é possível patinar no gelo e no verão curtir as atividades ao ar livre. Algo que os canadenses gostam de fazer. Localizado na Bloor Street West. Toronto possui um clima com quatro estações bem definidas, No verão entre maio e setembro, a temperatura fica entre 16 e 26 graus. Uma temperatura que para nós brasileiros é excelente. No inverno a média fica entre 0 zero graus e que podem chegar a menos 25 graus ou até menos. Muito frio!!  No outono durante o dia a temperatura é bem agradável, mas as noites são frias. Na primavera os dias são quentes e noites frias. O mês menos chuvoso é agosto e o mais chuvoso é janeiro.
