Olá Viajantes,
O Salto do Itiquira está localizado a 134 km de Brasília e a 34 km de Formosa. De fácil acesso a cachoeira está entre as maiores do Brasil, mas com a vantagem de poder ir bem pertinho dela. A vegetação ao redor é típica do Cerrado e está intocável, tudo muito organizado, limpo e bem sinalizado. Quando se chega perto da queda, forma uma névoa que não tem como não se molhar, sem contar que é muto lindo, vale a pena conhecer.
O Salto do Itiquira possui 168m de queda livre, sendo a 7ª maior queda do país e a maior em fácil acesso do Brasil. A beleza do Itiquira encanta a todos que o visitam, sendo o maior atrativo do município, recebe visitantes de várias partes do mundo.
As estradas de acesso são boas, pavimentadas em pistas duplas por quase todo o trajeto pela BR-020 que faz a divisa entre Goiás e Distrito Federal. Os trechos são bem sinalizados com placas indicativas. Depois de pegar em direção a Planaltina, entra em outra rodovia a BR-030 e segue até a cidade de Formosa que ainda está em Goiás. Chegando em Formosa, que é uma pequena cidade e sua grande atração é o Salto do Itiquira, se tiver dúvida é só perguntar a qualquer morador que eles indicam a saída. Mas, é só seguir para a saída norte pela GO-116, seguindo sempre reto por uns 30 minutos. Logo a esquerda terá uma entrada com placas indicativas do parque. Quando estiver próximo já é possível ver o Salto. A vegetação é linda!
Existem várias agências de turismo que promovem passeios ao local. Mas, estando de carro é bem fácil de chegar. Alguns hotéis tipo hotéis fazenda, ficam localizados na região, próximos à cidade Formosa. Com comidas típicas goianas, passeios de charretes, tirolesas, cavalos e tudo que lembra uma boa fazenda. Uma experiência bem diferente para quem está acostumado a Zona Urbana.
Pela manhã as gotículas de água e a luz do sol forma um belo arco-íris, sem contar o canto dos pássaros e o clima maravilhoso.

O Parque abre todo dia. Tendo sua abertura diariamente às 09:00, entradas até às 16:00 e fechamento do Parque às 17:00. O preço é de 10:00 reais.

Dentro do Parque se encontra:
Trilha do Salto
Salto do Itiquira;
Poços para banho;
Restaurante;
Trilha do Mirante do Salto;
Parquinho Infantil;
Pequenas trilhas;
Sanitários;
Bebedouros.
A trilha até chegar ao Salto é totalmente pavimentada tendo 450 metros de extensão, que leva o visitante até a base do Salto do Itiquira, é uma trilha leve. Casa não queira se molhar é aconselhável levar uma capa de chuva. Ao longo do Rio Itiquira, dentro do parque se encontra poços para banho, os turistas amam e aproveitam muito.
A Trilha do Mirante do Salto é um pouco mais distante com 1.750 metros e é aconselhável ir com guia. Durante os fins de semana o parque conta com guias exclusivos para acompanhar os turistas. Não existe melhor época para visitar o Salto do Itiquira. Durante todo o ano é bom de visitá-lo. Os meses que provavelmente não choverá são os meses de: Maio a Agosto. Os meses de Novembro e Dezembro chove muito, mas não chega a atrapalhar. Pois, ocorre sol também. A temperatura média anual é de 30 graus durante o dia e 14 a noite. Nos meses de Maio a julho a noite é mais fresca ainda.
