Serra do Mar fica no Paraná, são 110 quilômetros viajando pela maior área preservada de Mata Atlântica do Brasil e por uma ferrovia com 130 anos de história. O Trem da Serra do Mar Paranaense parte diariamente de Curitiba rumo à cidade de Morretes. São aproximadamente 3 horas de viagem. Uma viagem de trem imperdível! O ideal é dormir em Curitiba e sair bem cedo para Morretes para ganhar tempo e aproveitar bem o dia.
Viaduto do Carvalho, a impressão é que vamos voar quando passamos de trem. Um erro de planejamento que deu certo
Ficamos em hotel no centro de Curitiba, onde podíamos ir a pé para a estação ferroviária. Fizemos a reserva pelo Booking.com e deu tudo certo. Reserva aqui com a gente, pelo blog. Com 30 pontes, 4 túneis e uma paisagem lindíssima! A viagem segue por uma serra onde a Mata Atlântica está bem preservada e com muita história. Inaugurada em 1885. Durante o percurso se vai conhecendo a história da construção da ferrovia.
Um dos vagões do trem que desce a serra para Morretes
Sai do centro de Curitiba da estação ferroviária. Deve-se comprar a passagem via internet com pelo menos 30 dias de antecedência. https://serraverdeexpress.com.br/ Imprime o voucher em casa e no dia de embarcar se faz a troca dos mesmos no escritório da empresa. O escritório fica dentro da estação ferroviária.
Vagões do trem que desce a Serra do Mar para Morretes
A estação ferroviária fica jundo a rodoviária de Curitiba. No centro da cidade. O trem sai às 8h15 e volta de Morretes às 15:00 horas. A viagem dura umas 4 horas, podendo ter atrasos no percurso dependendo das condições da linha. A melhor opção é ir de trem e voltar de ônibus no final da tarde. Os ônibus são bem mais rápidos tendo vários horários. Se for voltar de trem, será outra viagem de mais de 4 horas e não terá muito tempo em Morretes. Voltando de trem a previsão de chegada em Curitiba são às 19:30.

Chegando na estação e já com os tickets em mãos é hora de embarcar. Tudo acontece bem organizado e rapidinho. Nos tickets já vem o número do vagão e da poltrona que você irá sentar. Isso já se faz no ato da reserva. Prefira o do lado esquerdo as melhores vista estão deste lado. Quando comprei não encontrei esta opção. Entrei em contato com a empresa, mas me falaram que seria escolhido aleatoriamente. Em todo caso, o trem dá uma pequena paradinha nos melhores pontos para os turistas tirarem fotos. A velocidade do trem também é bem lenta.

Assim que nos acomodamos no trem, escutamos o sinal do trem que já iria partir. Ele anda totalmente lotado. Em cada vagão tem um guia que vai contando a história da ferrovia e os fatos relevantes, oferecem água e um lanche. Tem banheiros em cada vagão. Os vagões são antigos e de bancos revestidos de um material que lembra couro.

A viagem inicia passando por bairros de Curitiba. Fomos em um domingo e a cidade ainda estava adormecida. Os turistas são bem educados e tem de todas as idades. O melhor dia para ir é mesmo no domingo. A cidade de Morretes que é bem pequena estará cheia de turistas, motoqueiros, feirinhas, tudo funcionando e bem vibranye. Imagino que durante a semana será muito parado.

A guia vai explicando tudo sobre o percurso e sempre reforçando a necessidade da reciclagem do lixo e não permitindo que ninguém jogue nada pela janela. Affff!! Nem precisaria falar né! brasileiro é muito educado. kkkkk
Um dos picos mais altos da viagem
Possui 3 categorias de vagões: turística, executiva e de luxo. Fomos na categoria turística e deu tudo certo. A ferrovia Curitiba – Paranaguá é uma extraordinária obra da engenharia do século XIX. Hoje ela não desce até Paranaguá, quando isso acontecia a viagem era ainda mais longa e não tinha tantos atrativos quanto até Morretes.
Uma pequena usina no caminho
Idealizada pelos irmãos Antônio e André Rebouças, a construção começou em 1880, com a presença do imperador D. Pedro II. Mesmo com vários engenheiros europeus da época tendo declarado que o projeto era impraticável. Quase dez mil homens foram recrutados para erguer a estrada de ferro, a maioria imigrantes que trabalhavam na lavoura. Por causa das condições precárias de segurança, cerca de 5 mil homens faleceram durante a construção. Ponte metálica
As pontes de aço foram importadas da Inglaterra. O Viaduto do Carvalho que é o cartão postal da ferrovia, é um desafio da engenharia. Pelos cálculos ele não poderia ser feito daquela forma. Mas, não há de ver que deu certo!!! Ele faz uma curva tipo “cotovelo” Impressionante!! Acho que a vista ainda é mais bonita de fora do trem.

No percurso se observa as ruínas das casas dos operários da época da construção, tem até um pequeno clube. Está tudo abandonado e em algumas áreas pichadas. Hoje é utilizado por quem quer acampar. Muitos fazem o percurso a pé. Mas, garanto tem que ter muito fôlego e desprendimento.
Àrea de Camping para quem for fazendo trilhas. Uma boa opção.
Chegando em Morretes, a cidade é bem pequena e a estação minúscula, o trem tem que parar por duas vezes para todos descerem. O trem é muito grande para o tamanho da estação. A cidade é muito bonitinha, com um pequeno rio, com algumas atividades aquáticas, feirinha de artesanato, lojinhas e muitos restaurantes que oferecem o prato típico da região, o Barreado, que é uma mistura de arroz, um caldo com uma carne desfiada e farinha. Isso é tudo misturado no prato, vira tipo um angu, acompanhado com banana. Banana frita, a milanesa e ao natural. Não apreciei muito,mas faz parte experimentar. Tudo lembra banana, doce de banana, pinga de banana, sorvete de banana, balinhas de banana, etc. A região produz muita banana.

Na volta é só ir na rodoviária e voltar de ônibus pela Rodovia A Graciosa. É mais rápido que o trem. Aproveite para dar um giro por Curitiba, que já não é como antes, mas ainda mantem seus encantos, principalmente o Jardim Botânico que é lindo e majestoso.
