Ola, viajantes!!
Siena é uma cidade e sede de mesmo nome na região da Toscana, com cerca de 53 mil habitantes. É conhecida pelo seu patrimônio artístico e pelo seu centro histórico. É Patrimônio da Humanidade classificado pela UNESCO. Sua praça principal a Piazza del Campo é a segunda praça mais visitada do mundo, perdendo apenas para a Piazza San Pietro de Roma.
Siena é uma das cidades mais apaixonantes que já vi. Localizada em três colinas na região da Toscana, mantem seu traçado original da época da Idade Média. A Piazza del Campo, possui nove seções de tijolo que representam os 9 conselhos e a capa de Madonna que abriga Siena. A praça tem forma de concha e lá ocorre uma festa mundialmente conhecida o Palio di Siena que é uma corrida de cavalos que acontece duas vezes no ano, dia 2 de julho e 16 de agosto. com 10 cavalos e cavaleiros, representando um dos 17 bairros da cidade. Possui duas grandes Universidades, a de Siena e a de Estrangeiros, traz para a cidade medieval uma jovialidade radiante.
Localizado no centro da Toscana, Se pode chegar facilmente em Siena a partir das outras cidades de carro, trem ou ônibus. O centro da cidade está fechado ao tráfego, só circulam carros autorizados. A estação ferroviária está localizada fora do centro da cidade, mas não é difícil chegar de ônibus.
Está localizada a 79 km de Firenze e vindo de carro o estacionamento fica fora do centro histórico. A distância não é grande e o interessante é mesmo conhecer a pé. São muitas informações e por vários momentos a impressão é que nos remetemos ao passado.
Segundo a mitologia romana, Siena foi fundada por Sénio, filho de Remo e podem-se encontrar numerosas estátuas e obras de arte mostrando, tal como em Roma, os irmãos sendo amamentados pela loba.
Durante a festa Palio di Siena os cavaleiros usam roupas da época da Idade Média e os cavalos também ficam enfeitados como na época. A festa atrai turistas do mundo inteiro e pagar um espaço nas pequenas sacadas da Piazza del Campo é para os bem abonados. As ruas que dão acesso a praça são bem estreitas e cheia de lojas, restaurantes e lanchonetes.
Os restaurantes que ficam na Piazza del Campo, são bem caros e comer sentado em um deles, mais caro ainda. Normalmente o turista compra algo para comer e vai comer sentado em algum parque ou praça. Isso é normal na Europa toda.
Os turistas que vão a Siena gostam de sentar no chão e ficar apreciando os edifícios antigos e bem conservados ao redor da praça. São vários, mas o mais conhecido é o Palazzo Pubblico, que serve de câmara municipal.
A Catedral di Siena https://operaduomo.siena.it/it/ foi construída nos anos de 1200 e tem a forma de uma cruz, sua torre pode ser avistada de vários pontos da cidade e fica bem pertinho da Piazza del Campo. É toda em mármore branco e preto e é o que mais chama a atenção. Foi construída com essas cores para simbolizar o brasão da cidade que também é em preto e branco.
A Torre del Mangia, possui 87 metros de altura e como é muito alta oferece uma vista muito bonita da cidade. Para subir tem que ter um certo preparo, com 400 degraus bem estreitos. A vista do alto da torre é de 360 graus. Talvez, dependendo da disposição do turista vale muito a pena. O bilhete para a subida pode ser comprada na bilheteria da Torre. http://www.comune.siena.it
A fonte Gaia é bem antiga, de 1409, fica na Piazza del Campo. A água vem de um local bem distante, cerca de 25 quilômetros e vem daí o nome da Fonte. Por ter sido uma obra difícil de fazer na época, pois a água passa por canais subterrâneos e estamos falando da Idade Média. Quando foram celebrar a inauguração falaram Gaio, que em italiano quer dizer: contente, feliz.
